Arm Kryptor Experimental K-Bot I hope you guys are happy, I had to get a friend to send me the Krogoth's FBI data file just to compare the Kryptor to the Krogoth. Thanks Lino! This unit tends to remind me of a T-Rex. The amount of damage this thing does is crazy. Now I don't have CC so, but I have seen the Krogoth in action but I think this unit would be one hell of good match for the Krogoth. Kryptor fires three different weapons at once and moves its body around extremely fast while firing. The unit walks extremely slow like the Krogoth and likes to blow the hell out things just like the Krogoth Built in its own little factory, the Kryptor takes shortly longer than the Core Krogoth to build. At a cost 115512 energy and 31035 metal the Kryptor does not come cheap. The Krogoth cost almost the exact same amount, 116664 energy and 29489 metal. The differences are very slight. However once built the Kryptor can take 30000 damage and the Krogoth can only take 29918. Both Kbots are weapons of mass destruction. The Kryptor is an offensive weapon, so use it as one. The Kryptor Factory in which the Kryptor is built costs 9130 energy and 4705 metal and the Krogoth Gantry in which Krogoth is built costs 9574 energy and 6587 metal to construct. Both factories have quick build times and can sustain a fair amount of damage. I have only one suggestion however, put some advanced construction units on helping build the Kryptor, otherwise the battle might be over by the time you get him built. Overall, the Kryptor is the perfect match for the Krogoth. They are both very large and extremely powerful Kbots, capable of destroying one another and anything else that stands in their way. Core Krogoth look out, the Arm Kryptor is here. Great work by DCS to keep the Kryptor so balanced and right on track with the Core Krogoth. (Sparhawk) |
Chain Saw Rotating Rocket Launcher If you have read other reviews that I have written, you may know by now that I hate rushers. Well, I love this unit. Long range, short range, air strike, it doesn't matter. The Arm Chain Saw is here. Great for defending you base in the early going the Chain Saw has a nice range, and is even betterclose up. Being attacked by air, no problem, the Chain Saw is also anti-air. Built by the Basic Construction Kbot - Vehicle - Aircraft (Menu 5 Button 1) the Arm Chain Saw is quick and easy to build. At a cost of only 7645 energy and 482 metal, these defensive structures also come fairly cheap. Build them fairly close to one another and don't expect Core to be invading your base anytime soon. Overall, the Chain Saw is a great unit for all out defence. You may however want to build something long range to protect the Chain Saws from weapons such as the Battle Bee. Great unit with no conflicting ID's, so download the unit already, you know you want to. (Sparhawk) |
Circular Saw Heavy Rotating Plasma Battery If you like to play Core and hate facing the Arm Arch, now you can get revenge. Say hello to Core's version of the Arch. It fires fast and attacks a long distance, perfect for stopping those rushes. I will say it once and I will probably say it over and over again, I hate rushers. Built by the Adv. Construction Kbot - Vehicle - Aircraft, (Menu 5 Button 1) the Core Circular Saw requires 11645 energy and 2482 metal to build. Not a bad price to defend your base from the onslaught of rushes. While the Saw can take slightly more damage than the Arch, these units balance one another nicely. One thing that this unit needs is close range support. This unit simply can't defend itself if something gets close. Try defending it with Dragon Teeth, that tends to work fairly well. Overall, the Circular Saw is a perfect match for the Arm Arch. I must admit I liked having this defensive keeping me from slaughtering Core. Anything that makes it harder to gain access to a Core base is great in my opinion. After all that is said and done, all I have left to say is that this unit has a great 3DO and is well balanced. So download it already. Update: Core Cero from SWS weapon ID conflicts with this unit. (Sparhawk) |
The Core
Antares Amphibious Tank I love the look of this tank, it different from all the other units out there. It's look are definitely original. It attacks with the HLT laser, but this one is mobile. I really enjoyed this unit for both land and sea strikes. That's right it is a hover craft Built in the Advanced Vehicle Plant (Menu=3 Button=5), the Antares consumes 8705 energy and 972 metal to build. That I think could be a mistake being built in the Advanced Vehicle Plant instead of the Hover craft Platform, but what of people who do not own CC. The Antares can take a maximum damage 3450, more damage that what the Core Commander can take. Overall, the unit is pretty good, but I still think this unit should be built by a hover craft factory. It makes the same noises as hover craft and at the same time works like a hover craft. This unit is a lot like the Catamaran, but the difference is that the Antares can go on either land or sea. I think this is a great addition to the hover craft, which is one area I think designers are leaving out. (Sparhawk) |
The Core
Catamaran Fast Sailer This damned thing reminds me all that wonderful battle with those annoying little mini-subs. The Catamaran is almost as annoying as those little things. They may be great when you attack with them, but I dislike it when Core attacks me with them. The range of the laser on the Sailor could be reduced a little more due to the fact it picks off of units from a distance. The Caramaran is simply an inexpensive moving HLT for the water. I used it toguard my shore from Arm, and it worked well in that role. I just didn't think that it was powerful enough to use in a more offensive role. Since the Catamaran requires an advanced shipyard (Menu 4 Button 0) to build, it's not likely you will see them to early in the game. Boy was I wrong. At a cost of only 6729 energy and 653 metal, these ships are the cheapest ones out there. Overall, I enjoyed this unit, it made the battle more interesting and when these things blow up watch the explosion. Man do I wish I could create awesome 3DO's like that. So after all this has been said I want you to download his unit to either add a weapon to your arsenal or a added challenge to those wonderful sea battles. (Sparhawk) |
The Core Xenon Advanced Heavy Assult Tank Like Core needs another heavy assault tank, especially one with its own new weapon. The Core Xenon is one tank that I don't like using. It does look all right, but a few shots from its cannon will destroy almost anything. I may not like attacking with it, but fighting it is another story. Its add more of a challenge. Built in the Core Advanced Vehicle Plant (Menu 3 Button 3), the Core Xenon requires 8048 energy and 873 metal. The Xenon can take a 3014 damage before being destroyed. I do not believe there are any conflicts with other units but I do not play Core that often so I do not know the exact location of some of the units in the build menus. Overall, its another heavy assault tank for Core. What else needs to be said. If you try using this unit please let me know if the Xenon can go underwater. After reading the FBI file belonging to the unit is says it has a Maximum Water Depth of 100. If it can go underwater, the unit may be better than what I originally thought. (Sparhawk) |

Rockteer Flying K-Bot A flying Kbot, sound cool huh? Well DCS has brought us a first. I don't know if you have ever seen the movie the Rocketer but that is what this little kbot looks like. Built by the Advanced Kbot Lab in Menu 3 Button 3, the Rockteer conflicts with another unit, I am not sure which one right now, but once I do find out I will let you know. At a cost of 3026 energy and 255 metal, the rockteer is fairly cheap and build quick. Its basically the same as all other Kbots, the only difference is that is fly's. Overall, a great unit to add to any army but you may want to see what unit it installs over in case you happen to like that unit better. If you do find out what unit it over rights please e-mail with the answer. If you happen to like the other unit better just remove the unit from the TA directory. (dteer.ufo) (Sparhawk) |
The Arm
Satellite High Tech Radar Where is the enemy? Build the Arm Satellite by DCS and find out. The Satellite covers basically the same distance as a Big Bertha can fire and can take more damage than an Advanced Kbot Lab. Not to mention the great 3DO DCS created for the Satallite Built by the Advanced Construction Kbot - Vehicle - Aircraft in build menu 5 button 3, the Satellite costs 3675 energy and 827 metal to build. It does cost a bit more to build compared to the long range radar tower (1830 energy125 metal). The DCS Satellite can take a lot more damage than the Long Range Radar tower (3200 compared to 120) and looks a lot better than the Long Range Radar Tower. Overall the DCS Satellite is excellent structure to have added to any army. Build one of these right next to a Vulcan or Big Bertha and watch it blowthe hell of your enemies. One minor glitch is the spelling of Satellite, its spelt Satelite in the game. Otherwise, a great unit from DCS to add to your Arm Collection. So download it already. (Sparhawk) |

Scorpion Scorpion Technology Scorpions are deadly
insects than can sting a person to death. Keeping
true to form DCS has brought us the Arm Scorpion, which
is stinging the hell out of Core units. Unlike the
Spider which paralyses, the scorpion attacks with Built in the Advanced Vehicle Plant (Menu 3 Button 4) the Scorpion consumes 7184 energy and 638 metal just to be built. This unit can take a fair amount of damage before it is destroyed, however it is always useful to have a few of them. Place it places that KBOT's or Vehicles can't reach and you will have a major advantage on your side. It does take a little bit of time to build, but not very long. A handy little unit to have on maps that have mountains or other objects coming out of the ground the Scorpion is a useful unit to have in any army. Definitely a unique unit, the Scorpion is one unit you should add to your growing army. Update: The new unit released by Cavedog "The Scarab" replaces this unit. (Sparhawk) |
The Arm
Condore Assult Copter The first 3rd Party Helicopter, the Condore is one of the best helicopter units available. Just the unit pic alone is enough for me to want to build it. The Condore looks awesome compared to all other helicopter units out there. Complete with four helicopter blades this Assult Chopper looks something you might see during wartime. Built in the Advanced Aircraft Plant at a cost of 12646 energy and 1241 metal, the assult chopper does not come cheap. However after build a few of them you see just how useful they are. The attack with a weapom called the Max Bomb. It is not a very powerful weapon, it only does 298 points of damage per bomb. The weapon however does have a quick reload time so you can keep droping thos bombs upon your enemy. The Assult Chopper can take a fair amount of damage, not much, but enough to make a few bombing runs. (Weapon ID 177) Overall, the Condore is an a great unit in already a large amount of great 3rd Party Units. The Unit has no conflicts with other units which is always good along with no weapon conflicts (even better). Download this Assult Chopper just to check it out. This is one classic that will never go out of style. Much like TA. (Sparhawk) |

Truck Stealer of Units Review on the Way |
The Core
Eradicator Medium Range Rocket Launcher This unit is the Core's version of the Arm Chain Saw. It pretty much does the same things that the Chain Saw does. It attacks air and land, protects you from the onslaught of a Arm rush. It has the same basic quick build time and take almost the same amount of damage. The major difference between the two units is that the Core Eradicator builds in Menu 5 Button 2 while the Chain Saw is built in Menu 5 Button 1. Other then that they are the Cores counterpart to the Chain Saw. (Sparhawk) |
